Our verification approach and risk-based thinking can easily be adapted to industries and companies for land-based industry.
Our services also include configuration of a SharePoint site for effective data sharing, and methodology for recording and follow up of findings. The site can be configured in client Office 365, if preferred.
VTC Offshore has developed a “risk based approach” for the rig intake verification and rig acceptance activities. This means that historical data from the rig and contractors is evaluated and discussed before the final rig intake and acceptance test scope is determined. Typical aspects that are considered during our evaluations are:
- Former PSA supervision reports (either towards the actual rig, towards similar rigs or towards Drilling contractor as a whole
- Audit reports from former operators
- PSA main priorities
- VTC Offshore experiences and competence
- Trends based on our extensive database of findings (PAR Management ™)
- Well and location specific considerations
- COMPANY specific requirements and experiences
The above mentioned topics will form the basis for conducting a systematic and well documented assessment, determining the final verification scope. We believe this approach raises risk awareness and gives our customers a valuable ownership and documentation aligned with PSA Framework regulation section 19:
Verifications
The responsible party shall determine the need for and scope of verifications, as well as the verification method and its degree of independence, to document compliance with requirements in the health, safety and environment legislation. When verifications are deemed necessary, they shall be carried out according to a comprehensive and unambiguous verification programme and verification basis.
The operator shall establish the verification basis for the overall activities after assessing the scope, method and degree of independence of the verification. The operator shall also carry out an overall assessment of the results of the verifications that have been carried out.
Let our multidisciplinary experts help your organisation to identify possibilities and mitigate risks.
